Succotash Clips Epi176: Harvestin' Primo Clippage

Saluton! It is I, your host Tyson Saner, and welcome to Succotash The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. This one is chock full o' content as folks used to say...

The "chock full" part...not necessarily the content...

ANYWAY -- there's plenty to hear on this episode besides me editing myself: Aside from clips — and yes, don't you worry, we've got those — we also have a double Burst o' Durst from raging moderate Will Durst: "Battle of the DC Network Stars" & "All the President's Con Men"

We've got another reading from our recently acquired sponsor TrumPoetry.com AND a spot from Henderson's Pants to round things out. It will be nice to hear from Henderson's Pants...as it is nice to hear from any sponsor that will have us. I'm glad they've decided to throw their pants back into the ring as it were and enjoy some healthy competition for your attention span and/or any other time-currency that is the the life blood of any soundcast...or, as some still call them: podcasts.

The clips I've selected for you on this edition of Succotash include : You Know What Dude!, Your New Favorite Movie, The Kimchi Chronicles, Opie Radio, Legion Of Skanks Podcast, and Kill Tony is the name of the last featured soundcast that isn't a call to action.

Please don't take that literally...

CLIPS

The Kimchi Chronicles
Friend of the show Samantha Pett is based in South Korea, from where Pett happily discusses differences in society, culture and personal hygiene. This clip, taken from Epi21 - An Extraordinary Guest - features the wonderful Baz Henderson, the host and producer of the awesome Extraordinary Stories Podcast. In this clip Samantha and her guest Baz discuss the controversy surrounding the use of "swear words". Enjoy!

You Know What Dude!
Hosted by Robert Kelly, the You Know What Dude! soundcast provides you a seat at that back-of-the-room table where comedians new and old try to one up and out wit each other. Taken from the "Wooden Spoon" episode, where host Kelly welcomes Rich Vos, Paul Virzi, and Gary Gulman, this clip has Kelly revealing his love of fireworks as well as the reason for this episode's title.

Opie Radio
The iTunes description of the show: Opie has been synonymous with irreverent and hilarious radio for decades. Opie has come a long way from his shock jock days and his talent as a curator of captivating conversation is undeniable. Opie Radio is a blend of current events, comedy, and talking to real, everyday people. In this episode, Opie and Vic Henley go on a road trip...sort of. This is the first in a series of "recorded while driving in a car" episodes and, in the clip we're featuring, Opie and Vic make an unexpected navigation adjustment!

Your New Favorite Movie
Two independent filmmakers pitch their outlandish movie ideas to AAA Ryan (Average American Audience) who will decide if their films will be a success or not. "Ever since Han Solo tanked at the box office, Disney has cancelled any future spin off Star Wars movies," goes their blurb for this episode. "Your New Favorite Movie is here to change their minds! Hear our team up movie with Jar Jar and FDR, but probably not the FDR you're thinking of!" This clip features the very beginning of the pitch and answers at least one question...

Legion of Skanks
According to the iTunes logline, "Legion of Skanks has been called "the most offensive podcast on Earth" and the hosts and creators wouldn't want it any other way! Stand up comedians and real-life best friends Big Jay Oakerson, Luis J. Gomez, and Dave Smith host their weekly "podcast party" from the Creek and Cave in Long Island City where they invite their loyal fans in studio to hang out and listen in as they discuss anything and everything in a hilarious and extremely uncensored way." The episode we clipped from also features guests Eric Bergstrom and Shane Gillis, and the clip starts out as a plug section that turns into an origin story.

Kill Tony
The weekly live show Kill Tony is recorded at the world famous Comedy Store with hosts Tony Hinchcliffe and Brian Redban. We clipped Epi263, featuring guests Sara Weinshenk, Ali Macofsky and surprise guest "Uncle Ron". (If anybody remixes Uncle Ron and sends me a link or a file of it not only will I listen to it but it is very likely to be featured in a future episode of Succotash…)

EPILOG

Whew!  ThIs is a sizable epi if I do say so myself. If you make it through the whole thing I'm grateful to you. Anytime you listen, anywhere you listen, any way you listen - I am grateful to you for it. I'm going to go listen to some more soundcasts for the next episode and I have some pretty good ideas of where to start...

So, rest easy those of you who may have been concerned. BTW, speaking of getting things underway, why not go to www.succotashshow.com, click on the Amazon banner at the top of the page and shop as you normally would. Amazon kicks us a portion of that and this ship keeps afloat for a few more months... or weeks... It's an ideal way to donate because after making sure to click that banner first and seeing your selected purchases thru to the end you have the added benefit of receiving stuff for donating! ...AND it's stuff you ALREADY want because YOU JUST BOUGHT IT... Isn't that nifty?

You know what else is nifty?  You — the listener. Thank you for being nifty and thank you again for listening. And while you're out there this pre-holiday season could I possibly intrude upon your good natures ever so slightly and gently remind you to please...pass the Succotash?
